Sharmar Village Care Center and the Chateau at Sharmar Village are located adjacent to property previously occupied by the Woodcroft Sanatorium which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places for its association with the development of the community as a center for healthcare treatment.
This healthcare tradition continues today with Sharmar Village Care Center that has been operated by the same private owner, Steve Briscoe, since 1995.

Sharmar Village is one of four Colorado-based senior care communities owned by the Briscoe family and is the only one operating under the unique name of Sharmar Village.
Sharmar Village is named after the original owners’ wives, Sharon and Mary, and continues to be a family-owned and operated business.

Since opening our doors, the Sharmar Village campus has been expanded over the years to include independent living and assisted living at The Chateau, offering a full continuum of care services to current and future generations of Pueblo residents. From day one, we sought to offer versatile and interchangeable levels of care for thousands of individuals and their families and loved ones across the broad spectrum of life.
