Residents and Family Members,

We continue to be COVID free on the campus.  This week the county report we received included a month by month total of positive cases.  The numbers in the county continue to be high.  Again, in July 211 positive cases were identified and through August 18th, 147 cases have been identified.  The hospital census is currently 4 positive, or presumptive COVID patients reported in Parkview and 0 in St Mary Corwin.  The health facility which had the outbreak in Jun has been resolved.  Unfortunately, at the beginning of the week another health facility was identified to have an outbreak.

I am well aware I am nagging, but with schools back in session and some locations in the area holding classes, we ask that to provide the best protection possible for our residents you are diligent with mask wearing as well as hand hygiene for any visit to the campus.  Your efforts are equally as important as the staff in the wellness of our residents.  As I have stated before, thank you for your efforts—I know none of you got up this morning with great joy at getting to wear the mask but you do so for our residents!

We have been working with the State Health Department for the last few weeks to arrange on-going testing for staff and select residents.  We received the remainder of the testing material today and will complete the paperwork and plan to obtain the swabs next week to send to the state lab for results.  We will encourage all staff to complete testing and any resident who has admitted to the campus since our last test date along with any resident who has been off campus in the last 2 weeks will be offered the test.  If you would like your resident tested and they do not meet the above criteria, please contact the facility to express your permission and desire for testing of your loved one.

Sincerely,

Keith Jackson

Executive Director
