Residents and Family Members,

We received a positive for a resident in Chateau from last week’s testing.  We will continue to test twice per week as we have been for the past few weeks.  New guidance provided from the State that went into effect on Friday states that with one round of negative tests (two successive tests for us) and we can resume communal dining and activities.  We will initiate these activities for our residents as soon as we have the results to support the decision.  The few days last week at Chateau where we were able to do this was greatly appreciated by the residents and we look forward to return of these functions.

While this is our first positive for a resident since Oct 27th, we have been identifying 1-3 staff members per testing round.  The proper wear of masks at work continues to be stressed as well as being safe in the community.

Outbreaks have increased to 69 still active in the community with 13 of those being in health facilities/entities.  Positives for the November are 3709.  Parkview Hospital continues to have increase hospitalizations related to COVID with 124 cases as of Friday while St Mary Corwin also has 15 COVID cases in their care.  fortunately, the death rate has not increased since the last update.

As I am sure many have heard, Governor Polis directed the county be classified as Red effective this past weekend.  The biggest impact to us on the campus is the discontinuance of the outdoor visits and restrictions to no passes for home visits.  The hope is this will not continue for an extended period and we will be able to resume our outdoor visits.  The heaters arrived this morning and we will be placing the tents in the designated locations to enable fire department inspection and approval next week.

Please contact the facilities with your questions and I appreciate your patience with our return calls to address your concerns or questions.

Sincerely,

Keith Jackson

Executive Director
