Testing continues to provide all negative results for the campus. Our last positive occurred at Chateau on 2 Feb. Data has been provided to the state and county health department individuals for review to resolve our outbreak. The county has approved resolving our outbreak and we await the answer from the state.
The indoor visits in the long-term care center continue. Again, a reminder, as difficult as it is, please comply with the direction provided by state health officials to maintain social distancing of 6’ from the resident (so unfortunately no touching), wear your mask and encourage your loved one to wear theirs. We have assigned work schedules to enable us to support visits on Sundays. Starting this week (7th ), we are open to scheduling visits on our same times as rest of the week (9, 10, 1:30 or 2:30). In addition, we are adding visits on Friday mornings at 9 or 10 (weather permitting for our staff to support). We have started to coordinate with Amy to meet requirements to have her back on campus to provide services.
Active outbreaks are at 35 (51 last week) still active in the community with 7 of those being in health facilities/entities. Positives for February were 300, however the rolling average for positive results for individuals tested in the last 7 days continues to increase and as of yesterday was 6.2%. Parkview Hospital increased hospitalizations related to COVID with 8 cases as of yesterday while St Mary Corwin also 2 COVID cases in their care. Parkview reported full occupancy at 216 while St Mary Corwin is reporting 15 for occupancy. This leaves 54 available beds between the hospitals.
The last clinic is scheduled for Chateau is today. We are going to have some residents receive the 1 st shot and will coordinate with the health department for the second shot in the community. Our sister facility shared a link to their county web site for community shots for healthcare workers and residents. The information was forwarded to our health department with the question if we have something similar. We are awaiting the response from our contacts.
I am hopeful we will be sharing information with our Chateau families for visitation schedules in the near term. Once out of outbreak, a separate email will be provided sharing this information. As a reminder, this letter is provided electronically either through email or our website. We do mail a copy the first week a new admit joins us if no email has been provided to share the information how to receive future copies via the website. If you are not receiving by email and would like to do so, let us know your address. Please contact the facilities with your questions and I appreciate your patience with our return calls to address your concerns or questions.
Sincerely,
Keith Jackson
