At Sharmar Village, we are a community. From our residents to our staff, we understand that everyone has a unique story to tell. We sat down with Gini, our Director of Business Services to hear what she thinks makes Sharmar Village so special, why she loves to provide care and more.
What do you want families that are starting this process to know?
I want them to know that this is a very loving and caring facility. The staff members do a great job at making the residents feel like this is their home, which it is, and we all want our family members to be in a place where they feel at home. Sharmar Village meets that expectation.
What’s your favorite memory at Sharmar Village?
I really enjoyed the Harvest Fest. The way that the staff came together to put on the Harvest Fest for the residents and their family members was really special, and I know that the residents and their families loved it. I feel the same way about the Christmas party too. The restrictions that some of the residents and families have could have been an obstacle when cooking a Christmas dinner, but Sharmar was able to accommodate everyone. It was really special.
What makes Sharmar Village special?
The team that works here is what makes Sharmar Village so special. I go home every day in awe of my coworkers because of the quality of service that they provide. It is a mission to them to not only serve the residents but the family members of the residents. The way that they consistently do it every day is incredibly humbling and a huge blessing to me each day.
Why are you passionate about providing care?
I am passionate about providing care because it is a very fulfilling work environment. It’s so nice to interact with the residents on a daily basis. They have a wealth of knowledge that we can all tap into. Besides just caring for their needs, it’s nice to have relationships with them. and learn from them as well.
What’s your favorite part about working at Sharmar Village?
I like working here because I enjoy being around the residents. It is relaxing, and there is never any set standard for what a day would be. There is variation in each day, and I enjoy that.
