Residents and Family Members,

We continue to monitor and prepare for possible influx of delta variant positives within the county.  Over the last few days, the 7-day positivity rate has been on a slow increase.  However, we only had one way to go as the rate had dropped to below 1% for a few days.  Currently, this rate is running approximately 4%.  The state’s data representing cases for variants of concern have increased the delta variant by only 1 case for the county in the past week.  Data for the week of 7/4 has identified 90% delta variants in tested cases.  This continues to be the focus of the state health department related to infection control concerns to keep this out of our settings.

I’m sure many of you have seen or heard of the direction in other states concerning return to masking regardless of vaccination status as they see increases in cases.  It is unknown what the state/community may direct, however, this is why the requirement has continued since its inception over a year ago in our setting.  Please continue to always comply with mask wear when on campus and appreciate your understanding when you forget, and staff remind you of the necessity to follow the mandates directed to our setting.

Active outbreaks have remained at 12 still active in the community with 3 of those being in health facilities/entities.  The last identified outbreak was on 7/16 at a long-term care setting.  Positives for Jul are 113 while the rolling average for positive results for individuals tested in the last 7 days, increased to 4.2 % from 1.6%.  Parkview Hospital hospitalizations related to COVID is currently 13 cases while St Mary Corwin has 1 COVID case in their care.  Parkview reported occupancy at 198 while St Mary Corwin is reporting 42 for occupancy.  This leaves 45 available beds between the hospitals.
