Residents and Family Members,

We have completed the outbreak testing with all negative results for the Care Center.  A discussion occurred with both state and local health officials and agreement reached the outbreak is resolved.  Testing continues within the direction of the health department.  Chateau has continued with negative testing.  The information call was postponed from last week and will occur today.  We expect updated guidance for testing as a minimum from the state after they have reviewed recent CDC guidance.

Reminder our direction from the state is our environment requires continued wearing of masks.  While it may not always be comfortable and impacts communication during visits, masks are still to be worn at all times.   Your support with the current requirement is appreciated.

Vaccination in our community continues to be an area highlighted by health officials.   We did receive updated guidance late last week that requirements to wait for a period of time between different vaccinations and COVID vaccinations (i.e. TB, flu, pneumococcal, etc.) is no longer required.  This will allow us to enable a staff member to start the series shortly after hire.  For residents, we will still wait for completion of the quarantine period prior to starting the series.

Active outbreaks have reduced to 41 (48 last week) still active in the community with 9 of those being in health facilities/entities (13 last week with 2 new in the last week).  Positives for May are currently 853 while the rolling average for positive results for individuals tested in the last 7 days increased from 8.9% to 9.5%.   Per the current report, the recent positives include 48 cases for ages 10-49 while only 6 cases were reported for ages 50+.  Parkview Hospital decreased hospitalizations related to COVID with 29 cases while St Mary Corwin has 2 COVID cases in their care.  Parkview reported occupancy at 214 while St Mary Corwin is reporting 23 for occupancy.  This leaves 48 available beds between the hospitals.

This letter is provided electronically either through email or our website.  We do mail a copy the first week a new admit joins us if no email has been provided to share the information how to receive future copies via the website.  If you are not receiving by email and would like to do so, let us know your address.  Please contact the facilities with your questions.

Keith Jackson
