Residents and Family Members,

Two residents have tested positive from Monday’s tests.  One positive is on the Memory Care unit at Chateau and one resident in the Care Center.  We have had 6 staff members campus wide identified as positive from the previous 3 surveillance tests.  We continue with 2 times per week testing for all staff at both Chateau and the Care Center.  In addition, we continue to test all residents at Chateau per our outbreak mandate and those residents who have been out of the facility in the past 14 days at the Care Center.  As a reminder, we are monitoring vitals and observing for symptoms twice per day for our Care Center residents due to the increase in staff positive results.

Outbreaks have increased to 91 (up from 69 last week) still active in the community with 15 of those being in health facilities/entities.  Positives for the November are 6314.  Parkview Hospital continues to have increase hospitalizations related to COVID with 127 cases as of yesterday while St Mary Corwin also has 19 COVID cases in their care.  Yesterday Parkview reported being 100% occupied while St Mary Corwin is reporting 10 available beds.  The death rate in the county significantly increased in November going from 48 to 126.  The increased for ages 70+ in November was 170% and 75% of the total deaths are in this age range.  We continue to monitor progress and information related to the vaccine.

Thank you for understanding and support with last weeks Thanksgiving holiday.  While we will never be able to replace the love and warmth of family, staff did a phenomenal job to try and minimize the disappointment of our residents not being able to spend time with families.  Uncertain what our situation will be by the end of the month for Christmas but will continue to provide updates as we are able to move back to in-person visits when allowed (both the outbreak status at Chateau and county designation of Red prohibit visits).  We are progressing with the tents this week and will be able to facilitate outdoor visits when we are permitted to do so again.

Please contact the facilities with your questions and I appreciate your patience with our return calls to address your concerns or questions.

Sincerely,

Keith Jackson

Executive Director
