Residents and Family Members,
We continue to be COVID free on the Campus. On Tuesday, we hosted the National Guard to assist with COVID testing for residents and staff who desired to be tested. The majority of tests were conducted in the Chateau parking lot and residents who were tested at this location enjoyed the opportunity to get out of the building and visit with others (strict social distancing and masks were utilized). Some residents chose not to go outside and were tested by our staff after education from the Guard on the procedure.
This is another expectation of the testing program that our staff receive training on the correct procedures and handling of samples from the test. We expect the results from the state lab in the next few days. Currently, the census in local hospitals of positive or presumptive COVID patients is 1 individual reported in Parkview and 0 in St Mary Corwin.
We began outdoor visitation on Jun 27 th. As expected, we did learn from the initial visits and are sharing lessons learned with our procedures in the attempt to reduce some of the frustration surrounding the process. I remind you these procedures were put in place to meet State requirements to host the visits. Most of our visits were without issue; however, we did have some that were not as expected by the family. Please review the process to reduce the stress on all involved. We have no additional resources to support the visits and to enable a positive experience, I ask that you follow our procedure so we can ensure staff availability to support the visit.
