Residents and Family Members,
We continue to be COVID free on the campus. Over the last week the trend in Pueblo county is showing a decrease in positive cases from the previous week. The hospital census is currently 6 positive or presumptive COVID patients reported in Parkview and 0 in St Mary Corwin.
CDC has recently provided guidance for recurring testing. After coordination with our Medical Director, testing every other week will be coordinated for staff and any residents who have been off the campus in the previous 2 weeks. Nursing staff are currently coordinating with the state laboratory to access supplies. Once received, we will begin our periodic surveillance program. At a facility (located in another county) that recently experienced an outbreak, many of the positive tests for both residents and staff were in individuals who were asymptomatic. The surveillance program will enable us to more actively manage any issues that could arise before they could become significant.
The bi-weekly video conference with state health leaders just concluded and still not update for inside visits, opening of communal dining, expansion of larger group activities or opening of beauty shop. Our staff continue to look for inventive ways to provide activities and the family visits significantly improve the well-being of our residents. Please continue with the visits, whether in person, by care mail (via our website), or video chats and phone calls. They make a difference and help us to improve our care with your feedback from the visits and what you are able to see or what you discuss with your loved one. For those that utilize our outdoor visitation, please remember hand hygiene and wearing of the mask/face covering (over mouth and nose) significantly improve the safety and wellness for your loved one, their fellow residents and staff.
Beginning 7 Aug, family visits at the Chateau only will not be available on Fridays. Please continue to contact Lynnea at 544-1173 Mon-Fri between 8:30-4:30 to schedule a visit Sat- Thur. This will allow Chateau staff to complete functions in support of our residents that have been displaced as we tried to support visits each day.
Sincerely,
Keith Jackson
Executive Director
